“So, I uh. What’s the plan, James?” She drew in closer to
me. Our arms touched and it felt really warm but electric. The fuzzy feeling
inside of me started to stir again. I was literally next to the girl that I’ve
been wanting the rest of my whole life. Here she was, and she needed me. She
needed me to be her hero now.
“I’m not really sure, but I think we should-“ I stopped
dead. The darkness of my room couldn’t show the silly posters and all the stuff
I left behind. The lamp however, illuminated our faces. Our bodies, close but
still in front of the desk.
“We should what, James? Why’d you stop? What’s wrong?” I
stopped dead in my words. Embarrassing.
“Oh, nothing. I guess we should look for him in the next few
days. I can fly, can’t I?” I turned to face her. I looked at her in the eye. It
felt good and weird at the same time.
“Yeah, that’ll be good. I just. After all we’ve been
through, James. I don’t want the possibility of losing you to grab on to me
pretty much sooner. You know I can’t come with you.” She held my arms. I could
see the tears in her eyes, and I could feel my heart beat faster. What is wrong
with me? Obviously, she’s in pain. I’m not really sure if she really feels this
way or if she’s just feeling me up.
“Listen. I’ll never leave you in here.” I pointed to her
heart. She held my finger with her other hand and drew me closer.
I never really imagined kissing the one you love so much
would be like this. Sparks rushed in my brain as both our lips syncopated in movement.
It felt great. It was wet, to say the least. And it was magical. I drew in
closer and pulled her by the neck and by her back. I now felt the hunger that
was forcing me to continue this session wither her. We breathed heavily and
made sounds I never imagined would happen to me. We kissed.
“James” She pulled back. Oh no, what did I do wrong?
“Just like that, we’ll make this work. I’ll save the world
and…” I can’t believe I just said that. Was I really a hero too, now?
“Just like this, we’ll have each other. I’ll take on Eric
and you’ll see me just like how those heroes in books, comics, novels always
win in the end. I’ll do that, and everything will be okay. We will win. I
promise you.” She let go of me and just looked at me with her lovely eyes. I
took a breath.
“James Littman. I love you.” SHE SAID IT! SHE LOVES ME!
“Now, go and save our world. My, world. Go!” She pumped her
fist in the air and gave me a smack on the cheek. Just like how we were still
those second graders, I felt like a kid again. I felt like the king of the
other kids and how I’d just scored the prettiest girl in the world.
I smiled. I stepped towards the door and took one last look
at her. She was happy, and I was happy. Her brown hair, her beautiful figure,
It was there for me.
“Alli. I love you too. Bye.” Instantly, sparks flew from me.
My chest felt like it was going to explode with butterflies. I felt so nervous,
and extremely triumphant at the same time. I left and It was the hardest thing I’d
ever done to myself. This was for us. Eric was a goner. I’m coming for him.
The world is mine now. Eric, you should really wait for me.
Because Here I Come.
